Prius and Prius Prime Fuel Mileage and Efficiency
Fuel efficiency has always been the prime directive of the Toyota Prius – it’s raison d’être, if you will. The 2024 version of the Prius Hybrid offers some of the best fuel efficiency on the roadways of Southern California while looking like something we bet the folks at the Northridge Fashion Center would happily add to their driveway.
The LE trim of the Prius is the mileage champion of the lineup, with these bloody fantastic EPA-estimated mileage ratings:
57 City / 56 Highway / 57 Combined
The XLE and Limited trims of the Prius feature additional equipment but still return absolutely lovely fuel mileage estimates from our friends at the EPA:
52 City / 52 Highway / 52 Combined
(You can’t go wrong with a Prius – any of these trim levels are nearly twice as fuel efficient as your intrepid blogger’s current “blogmobile” and will do an amazing job of extending your time between visits to the gas station.)
The Prime version of the 2024 Prius hybrid shakes things up with a larger battery which enables purely electric driving. The SE Prime is rated at an estimate 44 miles of electric driving while the XSE and XSE Premium are both estimated at 39 miles of electric operation.
Fuel efficiency estimates for the 2024 Prius Prime break down like so:
• Prius Prime SE - 53 City / 51 Highway / 52 Combined
• Prius Prime XSE and XSE Premium – 50 City / 47 Highway / 48 Combined
The Prius line has always been a hit in the areas around Northridge. Its tendency to sip fuel while many other vehicles guzzle is a huge reason for that. If you’re searching for the cars with the best gas mileage, the Prius must be on your short list.
