The Prime version of the 2024 Prius hybrid shakes things up with a larger battery which enables purely electric driving. The SE Prime is rated at an estimate 44 miles of electric driving while the XSE and XSE Premium are both estimated at 39 miles of electric operation.

Where Does It Get Those Wonderful Toys?

The author might be dating himself a bit by modifying a line from a 1989 film about a hero with a utility belt to describe a hybrid vehicle… But! The 2024 Toyota Prius is stuffed with technology and it seems appropriate.

The array of technological feats begins with the hybrid drivetrain itself. Toyota combines a high efficiency 4-cylinder engine and electric motor to produce 194 HP (FWD models) and then pairs that engine to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The All Wheel Drive Prius gets a bump in horsepower to 196.

Infotainment in a 2024 Prius included an 8-inch screen as standard equipment on the LE and XLE Prius. There is an upgraded 12.3-inch screen as an option for the XLE and as standard equipment on the Limited trim level.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto compatibility is baked into all the 2024 Toyota Prius trim levels, and you can take advantage of Qi-compatible wireless device charging as standard equipment in the XLE and Limited Prius. Those of you who enjoy a little extra heat in your hybrid should consider an XLE or Limited Prius as both those trims feature heated tilt/telescoping steering wheels.
